The Seca 650 is a tremendous all-around bike, but its one real shortcoming (as is the case with many smaller displacement inline fours of its era) is a lack of mid-range power. My only corrective measures so far have been 86ing the airbox snorkel and replacing the OEM air filter element with a cloth K&N unit. This has helped some, but I'd still like to see more throttle response below 6000 rpm. I've thought about screwing with the cam timing, but I don't want to alter the bike's overall good nature. Any suggestions?

There was a magazine article about running a Seca and giving it a little more midrange....
I think it was titled "Saving old standards" I'd link it, but I can't find it at the moment. Someone has a .pdf of it on their Seca page somewhere.
