WTB yamaha fork badge

    I don't know what it is called but I am looking for the badge on the fork just below the headlight on my wifes 85 maxim x. Or what years are the same and what will work?

    According to the Yamaha OEM parts catalog (see STEERING), its called a "cover, outer 1". Boy that's helpful. ;o). According to the cross-reference on the XJCD, these models have the same part:

    There is a guy in my town selling an 85 Maxim X parts bike for $200. He says he will only sell the whole thing. So probably not that convenient for you. But if you can get him to change his mind and just sell you the cover, I would pick it up and ship it to you.
