Does any one know if they make a larger gas tank (looking for around 5gallon) for a 81 650 Maxim. My driving distance has increased and I really don't like the thought of having to stop every day for gas.

Thanks for getting back to me so fast. If you see 2 let me know and I'll
do the same for you. Mine is the black with the blue metalic in it. I'm sure if we do find one it'll have to be repainted, but we can wish right

For something as old as what we have (I mean classic) I don't want to pay
that much either. The dealer is showing $483. I only paid $700 for the bike

And for reference - the 650 tanks hold 13L/3.4gal, the 750's are 19L/5gal

That's exactly what I'm looking for. What kind of MPG are you getting.
Last year I was getting around 42 now I'm getting about 38. I replaced
my needle and seat on #1 carb but I left everything where is was. I do know I'm running a little rich and I've turned my air screws in a tad.
Just looking to see where I should be.

My 650 has been jetted to 118's, slides drilled, and has a K&N air filter in the stock box, and a MAC 4-into-1 pipe on it; and I'm ~265lbs.
    I average around 45mpg (US)

be patient thats about what realy nice ones go for on there, the ones that need a bit of work,(dented) usually go for the 80-90 range
like all of ebay stuff sometimes they sell pretty reasonable.
Something else to watch the 750 tanks have a fuel sender, lots of times they are removed and sold seperatly,if that is the case you will either have to buy a sender or make something to patch the hole

it doesnt,I am sure if you wanted you could make something work, just wanted you to be aware that you could buy a tank then either have to make a patch or buy a sender to plug the hole,
just giving you a heads up

Do all of the 750 tanks have the sending unit? I was looking at the dealer's Web sight where they have parts breakdown and it doesn't show the sending unit.
