I have a 1982 Yamaha Maxim XJ 750 and need a petcock. Is 1982 650 the only petcock for the tank, or can different years/engine sizes be used?
    Thanks
    Dan

I'll try and remember to look on my Xjcd when I get home. The new cd has the cross ref to every year and model.

Syalzie...the petcocks from all XJ550, XJ650 (except Turbo), and XJ750 models will fit and work on your model. The CORRECT style one for your 1982 XJ750 is a unique design (it features a drain screw int he front, for reasons unknown). The others style will also work properly, there are some minor differences between the ones on different models due to the length of the fuel outlet pipe, but they really don't make much of a difference. I have new reoplacement and rebuilt original petcocks available, as well as an ON-OFF fuel valve that can replace the original vacuum-operated petcocks, as well as a complete set of parts needed fro your to rebuild your original petcock.
