    Hi,

After an 18 year break, I just bought myself a 1982 Maxim 750. I was looking for something inexpensive to get back into riding and I was able to pick this one up for $1000. It appears to need nothing and I'll be taking it in this weekend to be gone over.

I came accross this site while looking for info on the bike. I'm looking forward to being on this forum.

Welcome mikeg looks very clean. I have an 82 also same color, as mentioned by xyxj650 alot of good info on this site and alot of knowledge from the guys here. Ask any questions or try the search. Whitch windshield is on your bike and where are the square handlebar mounts located.

I went and checked the windshield and I didn't see any info on the windshield or the mounting equipment. It looks to me like it was made for the Maxim by the way it is mounted.

That windscreen with the two vents is a "SlipStreamer" ... one of their early models.
Looks to be in really fine shape.

    The Bike; too!
I hope it runs as good as it looks.

First thing to check is the Fuse Panel.
A bike that old probably has clips ready to just fall apart.
Not a problem; because modern Fuse Panels are a quick and easy fit.

    Welcome Home!

My last bike didn't have a windshield. I have to say that I like it. It was 50 degrees after dinner last night when I went for a ride. After about 45 minutes wearing jeans, combat boots a leather jacket, a helmet and gloves, my knees were a bit cold but not too bad. My neighbor and his fiance came back from a ride as I was putting my bike away and they were cold. I just laughed and told him to get a windshield.
