I wrote to Speed & Sports Inc., owners of the 900 that was recently offered on eBay.

    The Bike didn't sell.

Lets contact the Owner and see if he'll raffle it off on our site.
They promice to get the winner a valid title.

    Email: sales@speedandsportinc.com

Show them that we'd like to have the bike raffled-off for this Membership
    Who knows?
    They might just do it!

    Rick

Hey, everybody. Here's a great chance to snag a decent bike that was mistakenly described on eBay.

A fine 900 with low miles got put on eBay and the description said the engine was rebuilt. No. Just a service call for forks and brakes. The Bike that had the engine rebuilt was an XS650. But, the person who wrote the eBay description thought the paperwork was for the 900 YAMAHA.

    Nobody bought the bike.

I called the guy and asked about the Title.
They will get a Title for the Bike by letting its New Owner apply for a Title in New York where a Bill of Sale from a Dealer is all that is needed for Title.

We we need to do is have as many people from the Forum email them and ask them to Raffle the Bike to Members of Our Community.

It would be fun to have someone from here win that rare 900 and put it on-the-road.

    Email: sales@speedandsportinc.com

Let them know you like to win a 900!

Great Idea, Rick! Put me down for a ticket.
For once, I won't mind if I lose because by helping support this site I win anyway!

    will email the owner, too.

Were still on a clean sheet of paper concerning the POSSIBLE raffle.

We have to get the Dealer to participate with the Raffle being open to XJ-Bike Members Only.

There's a lot of details to work-out. But, I'd like to see that bike go to someone who's been looking for a decent 900 for some time.

All I'm asking the Membership to do is participate in the appeal to the Dealer to hold the raffle and make it exclusive to the XJ-Bike Community.
To sell enough tickets at a reasonable price ... that might be a lot to ask.

But, the local Italian American Vets Organization from my home town raffles a Harley every summer and I always get a ticket and write it off.
Never won the Harley ... but, SOMEONE always does!

They showed a work order for 13-Hundred.

The auction closed right at a Grand with Reserve Not Met!

I figure 15-18 Hundred and he Green Lights it!

E-mail sent. If I win, I think we should have XJ members each take a turn at hauling the bike a little closer to my location. It would be like the XJ 2000 bag relay except we'd be using an XJ 900. Good way to meet fellow XJ riders!

PS Each member could spend a couple days cleaning the bike, replacing the fuse box, checking alternator brushes etc. before passing it on.

I gave them a line or two of encouragement. That would definitely be a better way to repair 2nd gear in my 750 Seca!

I received a reply from the owner. He says the bike will be staying in his showroom. Maybe Rick will raffle off his 900?
