    Hello all,

I was thinking that I'd like a back rest for my Maxim. Both so that I don't have to worry about my 10 year old going off the back and so that I could put a 2nd, higher, brake light on the back of it. The Yamaha dealer I spoke to said they don't make them any more so does anybody know of somebody who does? If not, can I see your home made backrests?

    Thanks in advance,
    mikeg

I'm working on a backrest right now for my '85XJ700X.
I plan on an auxilary brake light on the top just like you mention.

The X is quite a bit different though....so you won't be able to use my design I'm afraid.

I hope to have some pics by next weekend.

I am currently fabricating a luggage rack out of strapping. I have thought about adding a backrest to it with ease. I just weld it all together after I mark my holes. I will post some pics when I get done. I will paint it to match when I paint the bike.
