How did you shorten the side stand? I need to shorten mine a tad. It appears to be cast iron. I don't want to try and heat and bend it because I like it to stay tucked away when it's in the "up" position. (don't have a torch that hot anyway). I'm afraid to cut and try to weld because I'm not sure cast can be welded. Can it?

I was going to "slot" the mounting hole and allow it to slide up, effectively shortening it. When I looked at it closely, I decided to re-think that because of the way it fastens (forget the details now...something threads into something....I plan on re-visiting soon to come up with a way to do that).

hat looks sweet! It will be a great improvement from stock too.
You do not have to shortent he side stand. I put mine in the bench vice and used a 3 foot breaker bar to bend mine just enough ( about 1") so the bikes leans over more. (they are not cast iron, they're made of tempered steel) I wanted mine to lean way over like a Harley to keep it from being blown over from the wind (which has happened with some of my bikes)

    Yamabobber,
Good, can't wait to see it!!!

We got another 6" of snow yesterday, so it looks like mine will be sitting until Tuesday. It's supposed to be inthe 60s this week, so I'm sure to get some saddle time in for sure. It's about dam time too!! PD

Make it your own! It looks like a mean bobber, no doubt about it. That tank sets it apart and with the blue, it will be like a cherry on top of the cake!! PD

Are you gonna double the signals as running lights and signals and use the STOP for just the brake ?

no signals. nc law doesn't require it, two running/brakes and one stop brake
