colortune mod

    I am looking at getting a colortune and I could of sworn I read in a post that you have to drill something out to make the adjustments can someone comment on this. Thanks

    it could be the mixture screws are covered with a metal shim.
    thats the thing that should be drilled out with extreme causion ;)

    Only when no-one tempered with the mixture before...

    On some of the XJ's, the idle mixture screws were "protected" by metal plugs, and you need to get those out before you can make adjustments.
    Others don't have any kind of cover at all, and still others (like mine) just had some rubber plugs inserted to protect the screws.

    Check your carbs and see which of those you've got -- there's instructions all over on how to actually do it.
