This winter I'm tearing the bike apart and as part of the project I would like to equip it with a more comfortable seat. However, as my knowledge is at square one on this subject I'd like to hear some expertise... aka Seats 101.

I took my old seat cover off and used it as a pattern.
I sourced some heavy outdoor vinyl and heavy cord from an upholstery shop. (5 yards ran me $40).
Had my sewing machine handle the rest.
Added a thicker pad in the seat and smoothed out the edges with a knife.
    Stapled that sucker in.
