I'm almost done painting my bike. I mocked it up, and it looks pretty good. The fender looks really good too, but it's not on there yet. I'm also recovering the seat with some new vinyl. What do you guys think?

The blue is Duplicolor "Metal Specks Ocean Blue" and the stripes are Duplicolor "Illuminite Silver." The Illuminite paint reflects like a street sign at night. It's pretty cool. I'm gonna redo the rear fender area and get rid of those bulky signals and taillight.

hey that looks impressive! That color definatley livens it up, dont you think? when you say "redo " the tail; what do you have in mind? Maybe an enclosed seat cowl? That would be cool. I love that dupli color brand paint,. Right now I painting my 86 maxim x with the metal cast paint from dupli color. So far so good. Its taken me a month and a half to prep it up, and now Ive got the side covers and front fender done. I'm findind it hard to fit into schedule with work, and the wife and kids. Hopefully it'll be done the first week of june, so I can get on her and ride! I'll post pics as you did, ( before and afters). Make sure jasonlion that you post pics of you redone tail section so we can see. Sounds like your havin fun!

For, the tail, I really don't like the big taillight and signal lights. I already removed the plastic rear fender, but now I think I'm gonna remove the rest of the fender, and put some flushmount taillights right into the cowling, get a lower profile taillight, and relocate the license plate.

Here is a picture of my bike as it is (was):

And here is a photoshopped picture of what I'm trying to do:

looks good. the way the stripe goes, almost looks like two shades of blue, dark on top and light in the center.

I like it!! Sounds like that "Illuminite Silver" might help with visibility at night too (by oncoming vehicles), which is always good.

The paint is Duplicolor Metal Specks Ocean Blue and DuplicolorIlluminite Silver. Napa and Schuck's carry it, among many others. Check the Duplicolor website for other distributors. Cost was 10 bucks per can. I used 3 of blue and one of silver. I also used 3 cans of clearcoat at $5 each.

haha. Thanks. It's finished now. I'll have to take some pics and post for you guys. I also removed the rear fender. It has kind of a sportier look now.
