Brent, would you mind letting me know any docs or links you (or anyone) find? I'll do the same. Thanks.

seeking: 81 650 Maxim ads, factory documents, owner toolkit

Just for fun, slowly getting my 81 XJ ready for a local charity auto/MC show. Don't expect to win any prizes (XJs ain't exotic), but think this is a fun way to support the charity (children's health), spruce up my bike, and remind folks old Jap bikes can be pretty great.

I'm pushing how the XJ can be both totally stock and totally cool. So I would like to show copies of some 81 XJ (650H) ad/marketing information with the bike. (BTW, I'm happy to make good color prints to give anyone else who wants. Can also post for downloads. Just let me know.)

Also looking to buy 81 XJ650 Yamaha factory manuals: owners, parts, etc. for the same display. Almost bid on (ebay) accessory manual last week but not sure it was for my model and this is a budget project.

And would like to buy the little underseat toolkit that came with the XJ (or if not, rent one for the show). Failing that, does anybody know what they contained? I could at least put something similar together.

    thanks for any help.

BTW, ordered antique license plates for my XJ. believe those will help underscore XJ as a classic bike that still has good style, power and handling.
