Just recieved these to repace the the missing front signals on my bike. Just looking at them I can see that the OD of the signal is much larger than the ID of the post coming off the forks.

Am I missing a piece to this puzzle?

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Ok,

Based on the schematic, it looks like I'm missing a "damper" I'm assuming this is simply some rubber material.

Perhaps I can McGyver something out of some hose, or should these still be available.

The current production of K&S turn signals have been made incorrectly, I'm working with them on this issue.

And the ones that they list for 1982 XJ750 Maxim's "ain't".

And your front signal "stalks" are supposed to have a rubber "bullet" signal stay-to-turn signal housing adapter bushing.........contact me if you need those, but be aware that they'll only be useful if you use the correct front turn signal housings, which, as I mentioned previously, the K&S versions aren't, and will not work.

I'm working with them to try and determine if they do have the correct ones for your model bike.

    Geez Chacal,

Don't you have any good news for me? I originally thought I had an 83 so at first I ended up with round turn signals. Ordered 82's through a different source and now have a total of over $100 worth of turn signals that may not work. All returnable I suppose, just a bit of a pain.

The latest ones look as though they would work if I had the bullets. Perhaps I'll find time to snap a picture and post and you can tell if they are from an earlier K&S run that was done correctly.

MW....sorry to be the bearer of such bad news! They won't work. What K&S and all their dealers have listed as '82 750 Max turn signals are similar but completely different from the originals. The turn signal housing "neck" does not have the flanged offset rectangular section cast into the neck (the neck on the ones you received is completely round---I know there is a boss for where the --incorrectly-- drilled cinch bolt goes, but I'm referring to the area where the stem/stalk fits into the neck---where the wire come out of the housing), and w/o that squared-ff flange cast into the neck, the turn signal stems that are designed to be used with your bike won't work on these.

This is hard to describe in words, you'd have to see (in front of you) all the different styles of stems and housings to be able to have the "ah-ha!" moment, but just trust me.....they won't fit.

Of all the K&S turn signals currently made/advertised for the XJ models, only one of them is correct/will fit properly. Again, I'm working with them on these issues and as soon as they are resolved, I will start advertising them for sale (I haven't listed them for sale yet because of these issues. I assume other vendors neither know nor, perhaps, care about them.....).

Yep, I just got a set from Ebay and they are not correct. I was just about to PM you to see if you were selling them. Then I decided to do a search and came across this thread.
Still no word on replacement turn signals?
