My final drive is leaking at the u joint cover boot. I found a small puddle of the goo and Identified it by the red color of the Red Line 80 weight I put in. I assume it worked it's way up the shaft from the ring and pinion. Would any one have a sugestion as to which seal or seals to replace to fix this?

oh boy do I feal a little silly. the mystery is solved. the boot (with the red oil on it) is just below the air box drain hole. the red oil I found was K&N filter oil. it didn't think I put on that much

Sounds like you were a little overzelous with the K&N oil. Do you wick the oil in with a bottle or do you spray it on? I find the spray to be convenient (if you are light on the nozzle) but the old wicking works best (and takes longer too). If you are draining oil into your air box, you drown your filter and need to get the excess off. Daub the filter with paper towels to wick off excess. Remember, too much oil can and will reduce your airflow.

You must have oiled the heck out of that filter to get it running down to the U-Joint Boot.

I'm glad you figured it out and there's no cause for alarm.

I only used the 2 oil packets that came with the filter. I had just come back from a long shake down run and parked it on the side stand. The drain hole in the air box of the Seca 650 is on the side stand side (left) and I guess it was pooled up and just couldn't hold it any more. It is a much easyer problem to correct than shaft seals! Thanks guys.

When it comes to cleaning-out an airbox full of oil ... I use the Box of Kleenex and Can of Carb Cleaner Method.

A whole bunch of Kleenex to soak-up.
A bunch soaked in Carb Cleaner to clean up.
More to dry-out and hit the corners and shelf.
