From an objective stand point, neither is better. Both have the same engine and electrical harness. So the answer to your question is from a subjective point of view. The Maxim is a cruiser style bike and the Seca is a semi cafe racer style bike. I all comes down to which you prefer. I bought my Seca new because I loved the look and heard how fast it was. I was very happy with it and loved it's handling. Still the best bike I ever owned. When I bought my Maxim it was because I couldn't find a Seca but knew that the Maxim had the same engine. I have been very happy with it. Put many miles on it and spent a year and a half restoring it. Doesn't handle like the Seca but still handles quite well and is so smooth and powerful! I have put saddle bags on it for trips which would look horrible on the Seca but seem at home on the Maxim. Just depends on how you ride and what you want.
