Weather, work, kids, and in the 650's case, the fact that it was crashed. :(

Dude that twisted front is a bit of a worry.. Otherwise the rest looks fairly easy to fix.... Big questions is any damage to the rider?

Just bought a new pair of shoes, and haven't cut the string that connects them...makes it real hard to swing a leg over the bike!
Joking aside,I need to dial-in the carbs and exorcise the electrical demon that visits at the most inconvenient moments.

Yes, that is true, But in the reality of things,"When the wifes happy, everyone is happy"
She is leaving (with the kids) on Saturday. I am going to log quite a few miles while she is gone.

He "has some grooves in [his] knee" and some other minor rash, but otherwise none the worse for wear. His helmet wasn't even scratched, though his new-ish jacket and the gloves he borrowed got a bit mangled. Yay, riding gear!

I took the front end apart fairly quickly so it wouldn't be sitting there twisted for days. The forks appear straight as do the upper and lower clamps. You'd be amazed how much a bent headlight stay can FORCE those fork clamps out of alignment.

Had intended to put it back together sans headlight this evening, but got caught up in another project and now I'm tired. Maybe tomorrow.

As for the original thread, I've taken my CBR 600 to work every day this week. :D Yay!

Now that you mention it, one common reason that I will choose NOT to ride is if I'm feeling tired. The time I crashed the CBR (and broke my wrist), the crash might have been avoided had I been less weary in general.

Now, it would ALSO have been avoided if someone had not come across five lanes of traffic in front of me, but I would have reacted better had I been more rested.

Since then, I never ride if I feel even the least bit "out of it."

    Miss one choice:
Money to buy gas. (only for fun-rides)

Furtheron: my bike is my home-work travel. so only, and only serious mechanical breakdown stops me from riding....

Rebuilding the front brake calipers, and waiting for the rebuild kit to show up. Can't ride without brakes... I'd need a much louder horn. ;)

can't compare prizes at the moment, but over here its:
1,539 Euro per Litre (cheapest, about 1,63 on highway pumps)... steadely heading to 2 euro/litre :(

    I figured: 2 NZ$ = 1 Euro :| damn
