My Yamaha decal is all chipped and faded.
I was thinking of possibly silver leafing it and spraying a
    varnish over to seal it.
My other idea was to take it in and have it re-plated
(however, not sure where in Calgary)

    Anyone have any other ideas?
my first option seemed more economical.

    Let me know, Thanks.

There was just a thread on this.
Someone used a foil tape to "replate" the badge.
Take a look it's probably still on the front page.

Metro, what kind of bike do you have, and which emblems (where on the bike) are you seeking?

Hound, Couldn't find the thread that you mentioned.

Steve, The decal looks very nice. Can you explain how
you did it in more detail. Not sure what you mean by a
reverse sticker. Not sure what a silver flake paint is.

    Did my idea sound similar??

It is for an 82 XJ 1100 maxim.

ok wheni painted my tank and my fenders i compleatly sanded it all down there was a huge dent on the right side of the tank and i got that fixed and i knowticed that if i fixed that part i would have to remove them emblems from it so i did that to both sides and sanded more to where there is not a dent and no ripples or any type of dings in it also and same for the front wheel fender then i painted the tank black and all the other fenders too then i put the 07 dodge graphite black on all of them to with a silver sparkle after all that dryed i made the reverce sticker and that this is this its a sticker thats whole and with the word yamaha cut out and you have it as a stencileso you see a rectangle papter with the word yamaha cut out of it i taped that to the both sides of the tank and also on the rear fender also ohh thes stincels are only and can only be used once i have a ploter at home that makes stickers its about 6 feet long and it has a blade well anyway i tape them off to the tank then i painted it silver let it dry and went over it with a silver sparkle mettle flake let it dry and then i did a clear coat on all the fenders and tank
