GROUP BUY: NEW SECOND GEARS - FEASIBILITY STUDY

Second gear failure!

This appears to be a common failure on many of the 650, 700 and 750's on the site, so I thought I would float a test thread here and see if there is any interest in a group buy.

It is possible that if we can get ten or more people together, a shop may be able to negotiate a decent price for us. If they keep the template, then we could do another order in a year or two.

Not sure if it would work, but I thought it was worth considering. Gearheads, please post your thooughts below, and girls in wet T shirts if you have them. (Mods, I am j/k)

 

if they were affordable, i would pick up two JUST TO HAVE (and to boost the order quantity to help make it feasible)...

You can still get all the gearbox parts direct from main dealer, second gear pinnion about $80 us

 

My dealer told me you could not, but since I posted this I have had a few people, umm, gently remind me that it is still available.

I think I will talk to a different dealer from now on.

Plus I found new info on cutting back the dogs and honing the slots of the gears, and I will try this first before doing anything else.

it will tell you what is still availiable and how much, its in euros but i just convert it to £'s and the price is always spot on.
