29, and short of a batch of dirtbikes, this is my first REAL bike... Praying that I don't get to find out what a highside is firsthand.

Wow, didn't know this thread was going to get so many responses. There is a great mix of old and new riders. I guess that's what makes this site so bad a$$. There's always someone to learn from or teach.

28 in about a week. the Maxim is my first bike, but I like wrenching on old things...

I like wrenching on bikes better than cars. Easier to get to things, and parts are cheaper. Maybe I'll get rid of the Olds to get a second 2-wheeler...

I'm 44 years old . I wish I had started riding 20 years ago instead of last week......
Before last week I rode a few friend's dirt bikes back in the early 80's.

I'm 45 years of age and started riding 26 years ago, but all the years owning and really riding, only about 6 years. Sadly can not make-up those lost years. First was a Yamaha Exciter 250, picked up my latest 82 Seca 750 with 15.8k about a year ago. Bought it because I wanted to ride, not because of gas prices.

63 in July. Been riding something since about 14. I'm a little concerned about the age breakdown of your question, though. You need a 60-70, 70-80 and a 80-90. I intend to use them all.

ir 28. 82 XJ650 Maxim was my first bike about 6 years ago. Liked it so much I got another same year/make/model a couple years ago. Will probably chop one and shiny up and tour the other.

Yeah, I'm still on my first bike, too.

34 years old, been riding 13 years (with about 3 years off in there). My Seca has nearly 28k miles - 11.5k of those are not from me.

I'm 60. Started back ride'n a year ago. First bike was a 750 Suzuki, rode the wheels off of it. That was back in the late 70's. Last year I picked up a 1980 sx1100, got hooked all over again. Just bought a '81 xj550 for my wife.

I turn 60 in August '08 and I don't think I've turned into my dad yet....maybe I should ask my son if I have.

Started riding a year ago this spring on a Harley 1200 Sporty purchased from a good friend. Rode a Yamaha FJ1200 and realized the first bike was a pig, so I bought the FJ1200. Next rode a Honda Super Blackbird and that put a smile on my face so I got one of those. I find it hard to part with them so I still have them all. I am trying to sell the Harley. I'm now nursing an '83 seca 750 with the touring package back to road worthiness for my son to learn to ride. Nearly there with the help of many good people on the site. Thanks all.
The XJ feels like a solid bike that's easy to repair and restore with tons of parts and a lot of good advice available.

34 for another month and a half, been riding a little less than a year unless you count dirt bikes when I got the chance. My 82 650 is my second bike, started on a XS400 but wanted something with a bit more engine and the 650 was a really good deal.
