Does anyone know if a Honda CB750 F2 tank will fit on an XJ650? What sort of mods would have to be done to get it to fit? How about a Yamaha XS650 tank?

    Thanks,
    Dean

No takers on this one?! I thought someone here mentioned putting the Honda tank on an XJ. The tank I'm looking at is going to run me almost a grand so I want to make sure it fits!!!!

Im sure it will not just "fit". Some modifications will need to be made.

The tank I'm looking at is a 5 gallon Manx with a Monza cap, handmade in polished aluminum, clip-on dents. The guy makes them all day for Triumphs, Nortons, etc. Also for XS650 and CB750 (the old ones, not the CBR's), but he's never made one for an XJ. He seemed to think that the CB tank was very similar and I thought I read somewhere on this list that the CB tank would fit with a slight change in the bolt holes and different rubber at the front. But now I can't find that post again! I guess I'll keep looking.

    Thanks,
    Dean

My brother has a '79 cb750F and the CB tank looks long. I will have the bikes side-by-side in a week and can take measurements, depending on if I get to his place on Wednesday or Thursday I may be able to try the F tank on the Seca.

Thanks, Fox, I appreciate it. Are the Seca and Maxim tanks interchangeable?

If you are looking for more capacity, The xj750 maxim tank is a direct fit on a xj650 maxim. More capacity and looks pretty good a s well.
1000 for a tank would bit a lot spendy for me. You should be able to get 4 or five tanks for that price. Will it wash the dishes as well?
