O.K., final attempt before I wing it (guess work heavily involved there)

    origional post :

there's a small fitting between these 2 carbs (1 and 2), on the head side (not the Surge tank side, there's already a hose there, but I think the Boost Sensor hose belongs there (on the head side), am i right??

P.S., if the hose that is there doesn't go there, where does it belong, it's other end is connected to the top of the Surge tank.

Does anybody have the slightest clue on this, I've seen several diagrams, and comments about what's conected where, and they are all contradictory.

1.) I'm going to try connecting the "Boost Sensor under the battery to the port tween the 1 and 2 carbs, best I can tell that's where it goes, from what I can gather , it adjusts the timing based on the boost level.

2.) The port on top of the surge tank is getting plugged, I don't have a fuel pump, so, no need for it, I believe it is sposed to be connected to the fuel regulator (none there with no pump).

to me these make sense sort of, if anybody can correct me, I'd appreciate a heads up before I go BOOM. I've had the bike since monday, cleaned the float bowls, seals, and needles, and floats all look to be moving good, cost of replacing not an option today, maybe in a week or so, .... have not heard the bike run for more than 10 seconds (2 or 3 times) since I bought it monday, and want to see if it will.

I am in the process of fixing up my old turbo (owned it since 88 but haven't ridden it since 94). The hose going to the carb plug you are talking about is routed down and under the battery box area (mine is bad so I need to replace it).

I do know that the engine will not run once it tries to boost up without a fuel pump on it. It will run fine without the pump just not once it boosts up. On boost the pressure in the body of the carbs overcomes the fuel pressure and allows the fuel to be pushed backwards into the bowls.

    Sean,

First off, God Bless You!! that's what I figure on hte hose, ..... Do you think the preasure pushing fuel back into the bowls would cause fuel in the oil? (Problem that I have currently)

No, that sounds like a bad check valve. I believe it's the valve on top of the carbs that the vacuum hose routes to (fuel pressure regulator). I had the same problem with mine too. You may be able to take it apart and clean it.
