has anyone ever thought about using a 12-volt solenoid or actuator to choke the carbs instead of using a crappy cable.... :D :D

No. To start I use full "choke" and once it starts, I reduce the "choke" to achieve about a 1,500 RPM idle. I then gradually reduce it as it warms up until it will idle and take off sufficiently w/o "choke". You can't do that with on "ON" or "OFF" solenoid.

For people with too much money and not enough sense. Sad to think someone will spend $30 on that with people starving in the streets.
