ok so i noticed when i put my new back tire on and i went to tension the chain that when i spun the back tire the chain would get looser and tighter as it spun, like something is bent, or maybe the back tire isn't centered, if anyone has an idea what it is and how to fix it let me know

I had a chain that I tensioned last week. The variation between tight and loose was so much that it would actually lock the wheel. I found that there were about 3 links together that were stretched while the rest of the chain was perfect. When these 3 links were on the rear sprocket they didn't fully drop between the teeth and pulled the chain tight.

    Some variation is normal.

I'd turn it until tight and then mark the chain at the rear sprocket. Then turn it again. If it keeps coming up the same place it's the chain. If the tight spot moves you need to look at your sprockets.

This is probably the biggest reason why I love my XJ's. I don't know if I will ever own a bike without a shaft drive ever again.

The manual for my bike says that when you check the chain tension, you want to rotate the back tire until you find the "tight" spot where the chain is under the most tension. It's noticeable on mine but not severe.
