Scrapped the old one, made a new one. Main objective was to slim up the seat a bit, sit farther back and lower down... and new vinyl... Yea its a little rough i didnt have a electric carver to smooth the foam but whatever. Total cost was $11.

and yea its a little lumpy but i didnt have the proper tools i wanted to carve it from a big block like i wanted to so i had to do with making a topography map with sicsors.

Inovative and functional, nothing to sneeze at Fox. Otter be proud of your handywork. I would like to know how long the comfort factor lasts with carpet backing. Keep us posted.

Great job. If you want to make it less bumpy you could always fill in the contours (literally with expansion foam (really messy to work with) or a topper layer that runs flat over the top and sides.

The most important question - how does it feel? Is it firm enough?

Its definatley more firm than the stock seat, i figure it will break in and become more smooth over time. I would say this is a GREAT inexpensive way to go. I checked out seating foam and it was $50 sq yard. All you have to do with this is cut it out int he shape of the seat pad, then keep glueing with adhesive foam... DONT topography it like i did. Just make a big block. Then carve it down with a electric turkey carver. THEN cover it.

And I LOVE the way it feels now. The stock one sat to far up and forward... the hump of the seat kept pushing me forward into the tank and i couldnt find a proper spot. This one, you sit in it and you sink right into place and dont move. EVER.
