I also ride another knid of bike and getting used to these high rpm's is not easy. HOW HIGH RPM'S CAN YOU RUN THIS BIKE WITHOUT HURTING IT. It is such a sweet bike I don't want to mess it up.

9500 rpm is red line I touch that number frequently have been a little over. nothing better to wake you up in the morning like doing red line shifts for the first three gears

I would not suggest running the bike that hard all day everyday I wouldnt do that to any thing with a motor but when you get that itch the bike will be there for you

I bought this bike to ride to work and back (50 miles) and I do like to run 75 and 80 when I can but I don't want to damage the bike. I just hope it will take the rpm"s

I have ridden 50 miles one way to work for the past year at these speeds and RPMs. Never misses a beat.

I think the word on the street is that changing over to individual filter pods can bring with it alot of headaches with rejetting and carb adjustments. I was thinking of doing this but decided against it because of this.

I ride mine 70 mi each day, and mine likes to cruise best around 70. She can do that all day long, regardless of temperature. At 70 she's spinning at just over 5000 rpm in 5th gear. Want to pass some pokey? -- go right ahead. Gotta get away from an idiot? Drop to 4th gear and hammer the throttle. 80 mph at 6000+ rpm, no problem. That's still a long way from redline, and just getting going with the powerband!

Just wanted to chime in, my Seca 750 ran at EXACTLY 5000 running EXACTLY 65 miles per hour. As far as running it too hard, I was not looking to hurt the bike, but buried the needle on that stupid 85 MPH speedo several times! Someone said earlier that these bikes really take off over 5-6000, and that is very true. It's a relatively (for it's time) high revving 4.
