Today I bought a maxim x off of craigslist. The guy didn't have any paper work for the bike. I paid $110 for it and figure if I don't want to try to get if running I can part it out and make some money. I am trying to figure out what year it is and what size the engine is. The guy I bought it from believes it is an '81 and either 650 or 750 cc. I can't find anywhere on the engine where the size is stamped on. I can't seem to find anything online about it using the vin number because it is a non-standard 9 digit number. The vin number is 4H7-009902. If anybody knows how to tell info about the bike from the vin that would be awsome.

From the vin number the bike is a 1980 XJ650G USA model.
The serial number started at 4H7-000101 upt to 4H7-100000
Sorry it's not an X model.
The engine size is stamped on the front, bottom, on the center of the cylinder block.

thank you very much for the help. I thought it was an x model because that is what the side covers say. They must have been taken off a different bike.
