I'm after some info from the US XJ bretheren.

As you may know, seafoam products are not available down under so I am after any info on the product that you may have.

Pop out to the shed and read the label for me.(Yea, I know blokes are'nt supposed to read instructions but humour me please)

    Info I'm after is:

    Active ingredients
Manufacturer/importer EG Manufactured by Dogswamp Industries Pty.

With this info us down under boys may be able to track down a comparible product or even the same product that has been renamed for the Aussie market.

Since you guys swear by it, it's worth looking into. We have plenty of carb cleaning/penetrating products but nothing I would rave about.

    Mucho Gracias in advance.

    HG

Sorry mate, no ingredients listed at all but here is the rest of the requested data.
    Sea Foam Sales Co.
    PO Box 5178
    Hopkins, MN 55343-1178
    Part Number SF-16
    www.seafoamsales.com
You could also give Berrymann's B-12 fuel treatment a shot, I've used it for years and love it. Quarter can to a full tank of high octane and you needn't clean the carbs ever again if you run it once a season.

Roberts link will get you to the manufacturer.

If you click on the Products link you will find access to a material data safety sheet.

    And the hazardous components are:
    Pale Oil 40 - 60%
    Naptha 25 - 35%
    IPA 10 - 20%

No idea what Pale Oil or IPA are, and don't know what else is in there.

Bugger. Thought I had come up with a good idea.

Over here most products have to list active ingredients in everything by law. Eg food ingredients for people with nut allergies and chemicals for poisons info should it be swallowed.

Was hoping you guys had the same laws.

Berrymans is another I have not heard of over here.

Just run down the lab and get it analysed for me then.

Geez, Nick, you beat me by milliseconds. After I posted I went straight to the website and saw the MSDS with that info in it.

Also the picture and description on the label looks very similar to a product I am currently using called Top End Cleaner. Manufactured/supplied by GM/Holden

Claims to clean carby throats and butterflys and remove carbon deposits from everywhere. Also 1 part per 80 parts in the fuel tank will clean injectors and carb components.

It did make a big difference to the 550 when I ran it through so may stick with using it regularly.

Will check the ingredients on my stuff when I get home for comparison.

Not sure but I think IPA might be IosProp????Alcohol.

    Thanks Robert and Nick.

I am also interested in these products but have no idea if anything like them are available here in Spain. Have looked on some of the websites for a dealer that would post seafoam to me but no luck so far.

If any of you are ever in the south of England you might like to try a pint or two of Green King IPA. Great falling over water but I wouldn't put it in my petrol tank.

I always thought IPA = India Pale Ale, but that would only lead to occasional backfiring.

Its got ammonia, alchohol (most likely iso propyl) and kerosene and possibly ketones and ethers. Doesn't smell like its got acetone or MEK though.
    Cool.

a fellow in the U.S. shipped a friend of mine some of that stuff to use in his accord project, then when our housing arangement went to sh*t I managed to snag a can. best stuff ever. It's a shame we can't get it here in Canada normally.

Ian, I got it locally at Piston Ring. I'm not sure if they got a store in SK.

If you email Seafoam company they will tell you if they got a distributor in your area. That's how I got my source...

Fancy a Georgia boy knowing about IPA, you must have been to England at some time. I do miss good ale, here in Spain it's mostly Lager type and I have trouble forcing it down my neck.

Radio ham? I don't know any Spaniards that drink rum most of the old boys in my village drink beer brandy or annis.

If you mean Casa de Moral that's about a 5 hour drive inland from me. Never been up that way, always planning to visit various parts of the country but it never happens.

I e-mailed the Manf last week they replied saying that Seafoam isn't available outside the US and Canada. I stuck a load of Redex in my tank today, I think it does the same job.
