    Hi,

Does anyone know or can confirm the size of the small diameter below the start jet ?

If Gamuru picture is scaled up it is about 0.80mm / 31 thou but has anyone actually measured it ?

I have 3 of these blocked and I thought I would try the drill method first before trying the other mentioned on his thread.

I have an XJ750RL Suppliment to XJ900 Manual (my bike's an XJ750E-II which is close to the RL and has the Hitachi carbs). Any way in the specs for the Carbs it lists the Starter Jet as a #43. This I believe is 0.43 mm. I have checked with .015 inch lockwire which is .38 mm and it passes thru cleanly and with the wire from a brush (measured at .4 mm) it passed thru but was a tight fit so I believe the #43 to be correct.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers Kiwi - man that's small !

I have tried boiling the bowls to try and shift the block but still jammed.

    Will try a small 0.3m drill by hand ( v gently )

Just an update - held the 0.3mm drill in a split pin, twisted a few times and BINGO !

Carbs back on the bike tonight to see if the starting has improved.
