I found, on CL, a 650 Max. not to far away from me. Looks like a good parts bike. I only need one or two minor things off of it. My wife says that I can not buy it unless I can get my money back.

    The question....

Is their enough interest in this bike from fellow XJers for me to haggle with the guy and go pick it up?

If I get enough interest I will go pick it up and list the known good parts.

    What y'all think?

    Parting it out on ebay:

    Tank: 50-100

    Headlight, bucket, ears: 30-50

Motor: 200-300 Since it doesn't "rud" more than likely closer to 100 if not just scrap metal.

    Carbs: 50-150

    Rims: 30-50 each

    Exhaust: 50-75

    Frame: 100-300

So, just from those few parts, you have your money back. It all depends on how fast you want to recoup your money.

$500? That's a lot of money for a bike in that condition. Offer him $150.

Sorry, I was assuming that he would offer significantly less.

Heck, I bought my Honda Nighthawk, that was complete, for $500.

D-Lan. as Maximum suggested go in very low, with backup information justifying why you think it is only worth what you are offereing.

    Good Luck.
