I bought 50ft of 1 inch Black header wrap Wrapped three pipes then got half way down the last one and ran out... did anyone happen to wrap their exhaust and end up with extra... i probably need about ten feet or so. 1 inch or 2 as long as it's black... PM if you have any.

i actually bought some online last night... i used 50 ft of 1 inch and ran out, you should get at least 100 feet if you have a stock exhaust.. i have a four into one exhaust so a roll of 50 and one of 15 should do. 2 inch you should be able to do the whole exhaust no problem. Autozone had rolls of 2 inch by me. but check out ebay. anything under $1 a foot is pretty good. and if you really want to get some cheap check out summitracing.com they have their summit brand 2 inch 50 foot rolls white(natural) or black for about $35-40.

Does it matter which thickness the wrap is?

I don't think so, the cheap "thin" stuff is probably enough considering our bikes don't make that much heat compared to big block dragsters and stuff.

I have to ask a dumb question. Why wrap the headers? Is it just for looks?

alot do it for looks but it keeps the exhaust gasses warm so they exit faster and the engine sucks in more air then. Alot of people use it on turbo and supercharged cars

ummm...guys...stock Yamaha head pipes are double walled, the true header is inside the chrome tube you see---I doubt it would do anything more than cosmetic...
