I have one that is pretty much junk___no side pieces and no mount, faded paint. Ihave no idea what shipping would be but you can have it . Its off a 82 xj750j.

Also there is a little place by me call Outpost Motorcycles. They sell new and used parts. They have an original Yamaha Fair like mine. No idea what they want for it. But I would be willing to find out and if they would ship it.

If you are looking for a Vetter fairing you will need the proper mounting hardware as the later fairings were all the same with differant mounts. Check out the Vetter site very informative.

I have a Vetter IV on my 82 650. It did not come with "the right" mounting bracket but with a little inginuity was able to get it mounted in good shape. I have since done the same on other bikes without the right mount and have had good luck with all. If you have any fabrication skills at all you shoud be able to make it work.

I have a Vetter Rooster fairing that I would be willing to part with but here's the deal, the fairing is in good shape but the windshield is not. The windshields through Gustafson's Plastics arn't cheap, about $110, but I took a sheet of lexan and was able to make it work with some work. It has been in my too small shop and something fell on the windscreen and cracked it. If anyone is interested let me know.

    Grim,
Give me a couple days to get those pics. I'm working away from home till like wednesday, but I thought I'd be home last wednesday but didn't make it. So we'll see if I make this week.

I don't need alot, like $20 plus shipping.

I'll get those pics to you.

I am looking for a fairing mount for a Yamaha Factory fairing for a 1982/83 Maxim 750. Already have the fairing but the mounts are long since gone. I want to mount the fairing on my Virago XV920k. Any help would be appreciated.

grimreaper169, yes I have the mounting hardware that I took off when I removed it from the 750. Mounts to the bars, and to the headlight.

But I'm not selling it for now, I may reinstall it after I get the rest of the bike up to snuff.

Just wanted you to see how the round opening is made to fit a rectangular light. Most all Vetter fairings were made from the same molds, and just the mounting hardware was different. This round to rectangular headlight piece is just one more example

Click on the fairing link...might prove useful? Shipping could be an issue, didn't email him to find out....

The darn windshields are just too easy to break!!! One small accident, being rear-ended at an intersection, and my windshield shattered.

I want a new windshield, but I have a spare fairing (XJ750RK maroon). I'll guess that the mounts are removable (from my parts bike).

Can someone post a link to Gustafson? The broken shield carried their mark and I can't find the site.

Tygor- - Do you have parts from your wreck you want to sell?? specifically, the 2 plastic brackets that hold the bags and trunk, and related hardware?

Grimreaper169- - Try Jacks Cycle Salvage in Sanford. They got a ton of old fairings. The hard part is getting the right bracket, or making one.

    Grim,

I still have the fairing I don't use. I have the mount (needs to be repaired) but I will need the original turnsignal mounts for my 82 750 Maxim. Only pic I have of the fairing is attached. It is yours for shipping.
