This one is driving me to drink...my Maxim-X oil light doesn't light up with the ignition on. I've checked the wiring from the sensor under the engine to the light and it seems ok. Putting 12v on the sensor connection lights up the light, so that part of the circuit is ok. The diode measures good and the resistor is 8.2 ohms. The fuses are all good. I really need some technical help so I can fix this and finally get my custom on the road. Thanks again guys...now I'll go put the carbs back together and into the bike for another go at colortuning while I await some help with the light.

Does the oil light flicker as you start the bike up? If it does then your oil light is probably OK. Mine does not come on with the ignition but will light momentarily until the engine starts then goes out again. It's when it doesn't go out or comes on during a ride that you have to hit the kill switch sharpish!

No it doesn't but what I've read so far, you can really only tell if it's working by having a physically low level...like after draining the oil. I'll be doing that in the next few weeks and will see what happens then. Thanks for your reply too!
