So i had a flat the other day, rear tire. five miles from home, and i left the phone on the charger. Back tire wasnt even two months old. So...i had to drive it on in and ruin the tire. I got a dunlop d404 delivered from dennis kirk for 78 bucks. My local shops were peddling the same tire for about 130. Put it on myself and easily saved $75.

Question: If i would have had a plug kit, i would have been able to pop a plug in the tire and saved all the headache, IF...IF i would have had a way to air it up. Anyone out there use any type of small compressor or can of compressed air that you carry around in your bag? I drive a LOT of rural roads to work sometimes up to 65 miles from home. Would be nice to know i had something like that.

Schweeeet! Wonder how many cartridges you'd need to doctor up a good flat?

If more than 4, storage is almost the same for that small compressor & plugs.

I have a thing that screws in a spark plug hole and will inflate a tire in about 2 minuts after you start the bike. Only thing is it won't work on 1 lungers.

Sounds dangerous pumping a mixture of air and gas into a tire.

You can change it out when you get where you can. Just remember a rough ride is better that a smooth walk.

I have the Geniune Proflate16 for my bicycles, and noticed last week (while in REI) that they have a 25 gram container (instead of the 16) that is said to fill two mountain bike tires from flat to 60 psi. The container is about 2" in diameter, and maybe 3" long. While I haven't used the larger canister, I have used the screw-on 16'ers, and have had good success with them. I think maybe I'll get a couple of the large containers for the 750. A flat would suck, and my jobsites (construction) are often covered in sharp objects.

I carry one of the CO2 cartridge units. It takes 3 cartridges to fill my bake tire to 60 lbs. I picked it up in the clearence section of Cabela's here for 11 bucks, normally goes for 32 bucks.
