want round headlight on my 82 750 maxim... what can i use?

    I really want to replace my rectangle headlight with a round one. I'll need the headlight bucket, headlight, and the bracket. Which (if any) models/years will fit my bike?

    i think the 81 750 seca will fit, is this true? any others fit?

    stock 81 seca 750 is square and ugly. Try the one from the 81 650 Maxim.

    I used a bucket from an XS, got it off of EBay. Then I bought a halogen insert that takes standard car auto lamps, just pop them in the back and you are golden. I had to fart around with the mounts though since they did not line up, but it is on and works which is more than I could say about my old one.

    I have an 83 XJ 750 Maxima that came with a round headlight. I just looked it up on a Yamaha parts list to make sure. It shows it as being round.

    all 750's used a square. and a fog too i think.
    i may try that 650 headlight, i hate the square 8)

    Edit-hurst thats cool your a RiderCoach. do u bring ur xj for demonstration?

    well, i for one really dig the square headlight on my 750. its just one more thing that seperates my bike from the rest of the herd. one thing tho, im missing my aux/fog light. does anyone know if it had its own switch or where it was located?

    fog light is directly below the main light
    the swith is located on the right hand controls, near the kill switch
    this is for the 750 seca
