the carbs from the FJ, the radian and the FZ will fit but you will have to use the carb boots from whatever bike you get them from. The only problem you will have is if you are still running the stock airbox. If you are running pod filters then its really easy. I do not know if the other carbs will fit using the stock airbox.

Sarah if you buy the fz carbs, if I remember correctly they are the same size. The carbs from the FJ were larger. Seems the hot ticket back in the FZ days were to get some carbs from the FJ and cheat a little bit in box stock racing classes.I think the FJ carbs were 2 mm larger. I am not positive about that tho so check your carb sizes. If you do get the FZ carbs they will most likely need to be rejetted to the stock 550 airbox and exhaust.

Thanks Sean thats great, I am definitely gonna go for FZ carbs as they don't seem so hard to come by, so I just take the jets out of my old carbs and screw them in the new uns.... is that right???? Doesn't seem too hard LOL!!!!

No chance. FZ750 carbs are down draft and mounted on a heavily forward slanted engine Completely different beast to the XJ/FJ series of engines. Even a diversion (secaII) has the downdraft style so no use looking there either. Mikuni BS 28/30/32 are where it's at. For a 550 stick with 28 or maybe 30.

    Cheers
