just posted a similar post in the chat section.
    here is the deal

one of the posts that a float is attached to on my xj700 hitachi carb broke off as i was trying to remove the float valve. I am desperately trying to find a carb body/ carb/ or set of carbs to replace this one with. I am pretty desperate.

i have a set of carbs off of an xj700x that i am more than willing to sell, or trade toward a carb/ set of carbs/ or just the proper hitachi carb body to fix my bike.

let me know anything you have, or feel free to make offers on the xj700x carbs. they are in good share, butterflies are free, slides move easily.

    thanks

I have a spare HSC32 Hitachi carb, but according the xjcd yours takes an HSC33. I'm not sure if the bodies are the same.... If you can find out that the body would work, I'd be happy to ship it to you for the cost of shipping plus 5 bucks or so.

As for your dilemma, why don't you just use the whole rack of carbs from the X? I'm guessing you've already thought of that and there is some reason you can't.

PM me if you want the carb body, as I don't always check the board.

I have a couple of spare Hitachi carb racks for an '85/'86 XJ700 (non-X). I'd be happy to give you a carb body from one of them. As it happens, I'm looking for a spare Mikuni rack for an XJ700X. Perhaps we can negotiate a trade.

What do you mean by "an airmax xj700?" This is not a term I'm familiar with. Do you mean the air-cooled non-X XJ700 Maxim? That's what I'm talking about.

Air max is the air cooled maxim. I started calling it that. I call the X either MaxX or watermax ... sorry bout that.
I am not the guy that wants the carbs ... just inserted my colloq into it ... sorry.
    Cool.

yeah airmax is just me saying standard maxim, air cooled. Picked up the colloquialism (sat word) from sinrath.

i would be more than happy to negotiate a trade rack for rack. i have a full set seem to be in pretty good working order. butterflies function, slides work well.

the only thing. the carbs you have are for an 1985 maxim 700 air cooled correct? just want to make sure before going through the trouble and not being able to use the carbs that you send me.

let me know, i can take a few pics if you'd like. just send me your email.
