i finally got my xs400 maxim running!!! cleaned out the carbs, switched the plugs, and replaced the fuel filter, and now my baby sounds mean! no more bogging down...she's just bagging to get ridden.

anyways, other than some small lights/wiring issues, it's time to dress her up. i am thinking that sexy handlebars could totally change the appearance of a bike. any ideas for the sexiest/baddest/meanest handlebars that would look good on an 82 maxim 400xs?

also, any other ideas on any other changes to beautify my beast?

    Thanks!!!

stoked to being so close to finally being a ridah!!!

The best way to choose new handlebars is to decide what position you want to maintain while riding the bike, and get handlebars that produce the desired effect. Choosing them based solely on appearance can make for some uncomfortable riding...

Wow, I didn't even notice that sign. I live in
missouri. Maybe the tassels were distracting me.

I hope for the sake of the motorists behind him that he used deodorant!
But that is the difference between a Harley and a Hoover...
    the location of the dirtbag!

sorry. gotta up this post. (1982 maxim xs400)

i like the look of the ones suggested. but before i make my pick, what would you suggest would be a good compromise for setting up riding and laying down. i like the ergos of stock, but the look seems a little dated and old-school. i don't mind leaning over a little, but would like to avoid laying down to much on the gas tank. anybody have experience with superbike?

I'm running "euro touring" on my Seca 550's, a little more rise/pull back than the "Daytona Superbike" but real close. Pics in gallery (only look at the white bike, the black one had stock bars in that pic.)
