Used it in my gas - seems to do well but is no substitute for cleaning the carbs. Can help keep clean carbs clean though...

I have used it with gas with lot of things, cars, trucks, bikes, mower. It works great for cleaning, BUT it will run a little rough in a small tank (bike, mower). I would say use it first of the season and end of the year for storage, or if you need to clean your carbs.

I was skeptical for many years, but was recently convinced when Seafoam restored lost pep to my old xvz12 Venture in a big and obvious way. I have been using it in the cars and a cap full per tank in my LawnBoy mower since then too.

The xvz12 made a big improvement, the LawnBoy starts better but the cars could care less so far. It was on sale last month at NAPA stores in Ontario, so they all got some. (Except the Jetta, didn't want to take a chance on a VW repair bill!)

Hope this is of some help or interest.

    Cheers,

    Brian H.

I've been using the stuff in the gas tank and crankcase of all my engines for 15 years. From lawnmowers and 2 cycle outboards to my 2000 injected Durango. Once a year on small engines including my 81 XJ650, I run a can through my other vehicles about every 6000 Mi. Seafoam also has a spray can, and a transmission treatment that work real well also.

I'm convinced this stuff is the best cab, injector and internal engine parts cleaner on the market, Barr none.

    FACT;

A few weeks ago I bought an old carb for my tractor out of a junk yard.
When I took it apart it was so dirty the dried gas had to be chipped off like
dried paint. I was out of Seafoam but my neighbor gave me two half cans of other carb cleaners.

I poured them together in a coffie can, put a lid on, sat it on the blacktop in the sun and let it soak for 3 days. NO HELP So I drove to town and bought a couple cans of you know what. Till I got home the cans were pretty hot, (It was about 97Deg. that day.) I emptied the other stuff
and poured a can of Seafoam over the carb, stirred it around a little to get all the air out and let it sit on the hot blacktop, with very little hope.

15 min later I walked by an noticed there was a dark film on the bottom of the coffie can. I reached in and rubbed the inside of the bowl with my finger and every thing came off like watercolor. 5 min later the carb looked like a new one inside and out. I'll swear to it, and so will my neighbor!!!

I rationed out small bottle of Lucas Injector/Carb cleaner over 4 tanks of gas and noticed improvement by the 3rd tank. Also went from averaging 35 to 39 mpg in city riding.

so do you just run this like gas?

do you run it with gas or by itself?

and how do you run it in the crankcase, does it replace a quart of oil?

As for how much to use i would follow the direction when adding to your gas, but use a little less when adding to the crank case. You do not want to thin the oil to much. Stuff works great in my bike an truck.

firs of all, there are no directions, at least not on the can i had...

GAS: To use it in your gas put about 1/2 to possibly a whole can of seafoam in a full tank of gas, run the bike up and down the street and park level overnight. Sometime the next day ride the bike around, try and use as much gas as possible before you fuel up again, and try to use that gas sooner than later.

OIL: Get ready for an oil change, Filter and oil anything else you need. Put seafoam in the crankcase with old oil still in it, I'd use about half a can. Run the bike up and down the street and park level overnight. Sometime the next day ride the bike around and get the oil nice and hot, perform your regular oil change and do NOT add any more seafoam, This stuff will thin out oil and I do not suggest riding any more than up and down your street with it.

This stuff is also good to soak parts in such as carb parts, I haven't done that yet but I know a person who does it.
