    :?: My '82 750 Maxim is missing its battery sensor, so the red warning light on the console flashes continually. I've heard I can "fool" the system by installing a resistor between the battery and light. Has anyone ever done this, and if so, how? Would it be easier to try to find a replacement sensor?

    Just tap into a hot wire, like the tail light or positive on battery. Problem solved.

    Forgive my confusion. Do I;
    (1) insert resistor into a length of wire
    (2) attached one end of wire to positive terminal of battery
    (3) attach other end of wire to harness

    Is that the procedure?

    Depends on who you talk to!
    You can do a search on this site for battery sensor and read a lot of suggestions.
    Here's a couple of links on the subject.....

    I had the same question.
    After reading several solutions on this forum I never saw the light again.
    I have a sensor but chose to connect the wire to a 12 volt source with juice when the ignition key is on. No diodes, no over voltage or problems.
