    I like it alot!!
I did pretty much tha same mods to mine. I've always likes bobtail fenders, so I put one on from a Harley (fits like a glove) I mounted bars from a Goldwing on 4" risers, so my arms are straight out and alot more comfortable then leaning forward and having all that weight on my wrists.
With forward controls now, it's a cruiser and much better bike to ride on the long haul.

    Jgb1503,
I'll try to get some photos of my '82 Seca that I turned into a bobber posted soon.
The Harley fender I used is 7-1/4" wide and fits between the frame rails like it was made for the bike. I don't have any idea what model it came from but I got it off Ebay and just asked the seller for the width before I got it, so I knew it would fit. I mounted it with 1/4" bolts thru the frame rails from the sides and an L-shaped bracket under the seat mounted to the cross member behind the air filter. It's good and solid.
The handle bars I got from a Goldwing are actually the same dimensions as mini-apes. They have an 8" rise (I wanted 12" rise) so I made a pair of 4" risers to make them the correct height I needed.
After much experimenting with postioning everything just where I wanted it, my seating position is just right. After putting in a 400 mile ride, I found it to be a 100% improvement over the stock riding position and it looks a hell of alot better than the old ug-a-ly Seca it once was.
I'll try to take some photos of it today and get them posted for ya later. >PD<

I pulled a fender like that off my XJ when I first bought it. Check my gallery. If you want it (includes brake light and signal lights) let me know and we can work out a deal.

    Gitbox.
That does look similar to mine, however, mines doesn't have the lines on the sides. It's just smooth all the way around.
It looks like someone is going to get a deal!!

Here's what mine looks like now. It started out as a bobber, then I added the windshield, saddlebags and a little luggage rack that fit on the bobtail fender to carry my lunch box to work. It's built for the long haul now!
