Need your help on a 80 maxim

    I need a diagram of the engine to see if it is compatible with an 82 650 seca engine.


    I need to replace my motor and dont know if itll work

    If your 80 is a 650 it should drop right in. However there are a couple differences:

    Carb holders on an 82 are different. You'll need to swap those and maybe the carbs (although I doubt it) too.

    82 does not have a drive gear for the tach, it came with an electronic tach so you'll need to switch out the tach if you want one.

    Yeah its an 1980 xj650g maxim. Anyone else agree with the above statement. I want to make sure everything is correct before i buy the motor
