I have (I think) a strange problem with my turn signal. When I first got my bike (650 maxim) the turn signal would not stay "locked" on in either direction, that is to say I had to physically hold it to one side or the other until I wanted to stop the signal. Then after a few weeks, mysteriously, it began to work perfectly turning off after the turn was finished on its own. Now recently it went back to its old ways. Is there some toggle for this thing that I am unaware of? Or is there a short somewhere messing things up and I should be concerned about losing the turn signal altogether?

I had a similar problem until one time while I had my tank off, I cleaned the connections on my turn signal relay.

when that happened to me it was my turn signal relay begining to go bad. I had sprayed the wire connections and switch with a electrical contact cleaner but in the end I replaced the relay and the problem went away.
