ok, on my bike i have a Vance Hines 4 into 1 exhaust with a removable baffle. the baffle has insulation around it in the pipe. What potential damage could i do (if any) with the baffle out and straight opening for the exhaust or removing the insulation from between the inside of the pipe and the baffle then reinstalling it?

    Exhaust backpressure is lost.
This complicates the performance of the engine.
Adjustments MAY OR MAY NOT need to be made with your carbs
    Mixture and jets mostly

would you say that leaving the baffle in but taking out the insulation for a better sound MAY be ok?

it sounds great with no baffle.

Only potential problem I can think of would be tuning issues as mentioned above. But hey, if you like the sound enough you may be willing to put the extra work into it that it will take to make sure it is running it's best. :D

Your hearing and the relationship with your neighbors are both likely to be damaged if you ride your bike with no baffle.

you will have more air moving through our bike so you will need to make it a little fat to run correctly

as long as you dont change the filter it shouldnt be that bad mixture/jet wise. It might start to stumble when you get into the higher rpms of the last gear. If it does that and it bothers you just get the carbs adjusted or do it yourslef

Not to be a party pooper but, bike exhaust with removable baffles are illegal in new york state.
Before you start drawing attention to the noise, you may want to rethink this.
