    Hello all,
I am starting my LED conversion today by replacing by brake lights and right off the freeking bat I am getting a warning message on my cluster for the tail lights. Has to be from the low draw on the circuit. Is there a work around without using resistors or SMASHING the cluster???

I hadnt thought of that possibility.
I havent done the LED conversion yet.

There are 2 ways to go that come to mind.

DO NOT CUT WIRES !!!! You WILL regret it !!!

What we want to do is insert adapters at one of the factory connector points.

The problem is that the resistor value is just so critical that the "tattletail"
may miss actual failures in the future.

You need a parallel resistance across the lamp circuit, less than an ohm,
experimentally determined. It will be a while before I have time to set up
a wheatstone bridge to give you the values.

Installation of this mod would be a set of connectors that mate with the original factory connectors allowing you to just insert this in the line without
taking chances screwing up your harness. Trust me, fixing a damaged
    harness is a real cow.

Depending on your cluster, if its an idiot lamp that lights to tell you there is
a blown lamp, you could remove the idiot lamp from its socket and
remember to walk around your bike before night riding.

If you have the one with the LCD, you could just remember to hit the "acknowledge" button like I have to with my dead fuel float switch.

When i get time, Ill set up a wheatstone bridge and figure out how to fool
the sensors and hopefully retain lamp failure detection. Results will be
shared with this group, but it may take months.

Wish I had better news for you.

Guess I can deal with it for now but if you do come up with something keep us informed.
    Thanks
