Hello I'm new to the boards. I acually found this place as a result of a post in my other hobbys forum Cloudy Nights astronomy forum. I've been riding for almost 20 years and my Seca 2 is my second bike. The first was a Suzuki GS450 that I bought used for like 800 bucks. The second season that I had it all sorts of issues started poping up and I got rid of it. I was without a bike for a year or so and then picked up my Seca new in 94. I did a tin off resto on it about 5 years ago and did all the work myself. With a new paint job, tires, chain, lower fairing and marker lights. I just had a local company redo my seat about a month ago and it looks like new again. I'm originally from Rhode Island but met a girl..got married and moved to New Brunswick Canada. (long story). Well due to no work on the east coast and a failed marriage I moved out west to Alberta and I'm just starting to get settled in. My hobbies include Motorcycles, Astronomy, Recreational dog sledding and anything mechanical. I look forward to making new friends here and maybe getting to share a ride with a few sometime.

Dog sledding? Cool. I was in La Ronge for 7 years, and there were some avid mushers there!

I have discovered astronomy later in life and want to move somewhere closer to a large telescope (and more motorcycle weather, haha)

    Welcome to the forum!

Well here is a small sampling of my handy work. I could not find a set of pipes to make my 4 into 1 for the Vance and Hines muffler I got so I removed to stock exhaust and made up my own flanges using SB Chevy header gaskets for templates and welded up the pipe supplied with the V&H to a piece of exhaust tubing I got at the local auto supply store. Took a bit of tweeking to get it to clear the frame and sit right but in the end it turned out pretty good. As far as the telescope is concerned, Here is my setup taking a few pictures of the eclipse we had back in Feb. If you look closely you can see my 35mm camera on the back of the scope. That should give you an idea how big it is.

Welcome to the site Marc, from what I can tell, it looks like some real nice work on those pipes. Good on You!

I also like the looks of that telescope, sweet looking rig.
I couldn't tell what kind of camera but I DID like that telescope.
My wife and I shoot a Cannon 40D and an XTI.
The nearest thing we have to that scope is a 100-400 mm zoom which is big but not even in the same catergory.

    Once again, Welcome!
