Bike model question..

    N YES I did do a search. N what I've found was the last letter is the code for the year n all. I even used this link I found while searching on here:
    http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vin/yamaha.asp

    Now my question is: That link above states my bike is a XJ750R! Now do I add a "J" for the year!?! Since yamaha used the "J" for 1982. SO would my bike be "XJ750RJ"!?! OR XJ750J!?!

    Add the "J." I have an XJ550RH ('81) and an XJ550RK ('83.) There was no "I" it went G, H, J, K, (and I'm not sure when) they stopped using that coding sequence. You have an XJ750RJ if it's a true '82. R=Seca.

    i think the "RJ" is the seca, and the "J" is the maxim.
