Just purchased 9 Yammies as a herd. 8 XS's and 1 XJ650. I haven't ridden anything but water pumping shaft drives for the last 15 years but the air cooled in-line 4 cyl. XJ is intriguing enough I have decided to keep it. The owner of the herd of scooters claims that he rode the Maxim last year and that it is a good runner. It has 9,000 miles on it and from what I have gleaned off the internet this is not very many miles. The Maxim is complete, seats in perfect shape, no tank dents, rust etc. and it even has a key! I plan to drain the tank, mix a little Berrymans (Vitamin) B12 with some fresh gas and see if she'll start/run.

The XS's are in various stages of repair/disrepair. 2 have less than 5,000 miles on them. 3 are completelly assembled and look like they could be made to run quite easily. The rest........ time will tell although they all turn over with the kick starter. The best feature with this group is that I got a factory manual as part of the deal.

Does anyone know where I can get a FACTORY service manual for the XJ? I'm not interested in a Clymers or a Chiltons that has every moyotcrcycle/moped/keyboard/blender that Yamaha has made since day one!

Oh, the herd cost me $800 for the lot.

Hey Man, you stole all those bikes at that price. LOL But do you have a Sissy bar with a package tray on one, that would fit an xj650 Maxim ? I would be interested in that.

I kind of figured the Maxim was worth. $800. My daughter found a sissy bar and package platform for a Maxim she was going to buy. Her husband to be (Monday is the big day installed it an then she didn't buy it. I have the grab bar for that bike so I'll see if she wants to trade them back. If so, I'll get a picture of how they attached it and send you a photo.
