I guess the first thing that you need is a V-Max!

@ rick Nahhh.....I am guessing that I would kill myself on one having never ridden till this summer. And that was just long enough to practice before the riders edge course....lol I just want my maxim to sound like that once I get it running =)

Yes, you do ... if it's a matter of tuning.
No, you don't ... if it's a matter of loudness!

You can fine-tune your bike and get it to sound like a Formula-1 Car.
A nice highly-tuned mechanical whine with accompanying exhaust note.

If you go the loud route and change pipes ... you'll have to start playing roulette with the Carb Jetting.

I prefer the tuning route. I never understood guys with cars that looked like they should do 0-60 in 4 seconds but in reality they go 0-60 in "maybe"

    Stock VMax = great sound.
    Stock Maxim = great sound.

I got 'em both and enjoy the different, uniqueness of each.

I have a great friend who has a HD Road Glide who said how much he liked the XJ650's stock sound when I turned it up a bit between gears.

Once he was riding beside me and then he was suddenly gone...........behind me!

But understand, I got no Harley beef. I got an '03 883R which also has its unique sound,. I love to ride that bike too. And I ride it a lot.

But the Maxim will blow its fenders right off.
