hello problem with carbs they rev up alone

    hi
    i am new xj owner
    xj 650 4ko.... 1982
    my bike was going for scrap
    after some work got her running
    but....
    my bike revs up on its own to about 4000
    if i play with the acelerator up to 5-6000
    then it drops revs realy slow down to 1200
    ..... :(
    any ideas..please
    i built yics tool
    i built vacuometer
    cleand carbs
    did full job
    is there any bit i forgot?

    did you bench sync carbs before refitting

    no bench sync
    the bike was running so i gave it a try
    old owner said the bike did this before

    check to make sure your choke cable and throttle cable didnt get pinched by the gas tank.

    when you throttle it up to 6k and it drops down to 1200 does it stay there? or does it rev back up to 4k again?
