average fule mileage ???

    I was wondering the avrage mile per gallon and what you get per tank . I have a well toned 82 650 maxum stock motor YICS and runs great.I also have an 81 650 maxum not a YICI motor and was wondering if there was a difance.

    Not sure about the '81 but my '82 has been getting 46mpg. I have a couple of cylinders that are a tad rich that I have been working on getting just right. After everything is set I would think that my MPG should go up a little.

    I get 46 out of my 82 also. Unless I start having too much fun, then it can drop below 40!

    I wouldn't expect much difference in the 81.

    I get 46 with my 82 750 but I tend to be on the heavy handed side. Have gotten 50 mpg but it was not a fun ride.

    I'm getting about 43-45 with my X

    I'm pushing a Street shield EX windshield which probably pulls my mileage down a bit (but it makes holding onto the bars a lot easier)
    Of course I'm addicted to the acceleration, so that might affect my mileage too.

    i get right about 40 on my 82 seca 750... It's a new bike to me though so i like to really ride it. It's a toy to me and even for not so great mileage on a bike it's still more than twice as good as my daily driver and thats if I ride the bike hard.

    My 82 Seca 650 has been running 50 (average) over the last 8K miles. Bike carries a Shoei FM-5, and I weigh in at 230lb and 6ft tall. Primarily used as a commuter (45 miles each way, over 1/2 of the trip is stop and go). YICS should make little difference, if any. For whatever difference it might make, I am "fairly" gentle and keep up on the maintenance.
